Advance Realty has unveiled a series of upgrades at a two-building, 128-unit apartment complex in Hoboken, which it acquired earlier this year as part of its growing footprint in the city.
The firm has also launched a new leasing effort at the buildings at 1300 Clinton St., formerly called The Metropolitan and now known as The Bexley. The upgrades include new flooring, kitchen cabinets, appliances and bathrooms, along with the modernization of the lobbies and common area hallways, resident club lounge, business center, package room and courtyard.
The Bridgewater-based firm purchased the five-story complex earlier this year for about $77 million. It sits directly adjacent to Harlow, Advance’s 140-unit luxury apartment building at 14th Street and Willow Avenue that opened about three months earlier.
“When The Bexley was originally constructed in the early 2000s, it was among the premier rental communities in Hoboken,” said Peter Cocoziello, CEO and president of Advance Realty. “Our comprehensive renovation program returns the property to its rightful place among the most desirable residential options in the city.
“We view both Harlow and The Bexley as long-term investments, and we’ll continue to devote capital toward ensuring they remain at the forefront of Hoboken’s luxury rental market.”
The Bexley’s parallel, twin buildings are connected by an elevated courtyard, while also including ground-floor retail. The Bexley also has an above-ground parking garage and a host of high-end amenities, including a fitness center, club room, business center and a package concierge system.
Upgrades within each apartment include new luxury wide plank flooring, individual unit-controlled heating and air conditioning, USB wall ports and new in-home washers and dryers, Advance said in a news release. The firm said it also added solid wood cabinets, stainless steel appliances and other high-end finishes to each kitchen.
The renovated courtyard is furnished with seating areas and grills, the news release said. The landlord is offering shuttle service to and from the Hoboken PATH train station.
Like residents at its sister property, renters at The Bexley benefit from the Trader Joe’s supermarket at the base of Harlow. The store is the only Trader Joe’s in Hudson County.
The Bexley, which is a mile from the Lincoln Tunnel, is in northern Hoboken near the 14th Street viaduct, which recently underwent a $54 million renovation to allow for continuous traffic flow.
