A transportation and logistics solutions firm has leased 181,000 square feet at a Prologis-owned building in Linden, brokers with Colliers International said Wednesday.
The real estate services firm said it represented the tenant, ASA Apple Inc., in its commitment at 55 Wildcat Way. The deal marks an expansion of the operator’s regional distribution business.
Colliers’ Richard Mirliss, Richard J. Madison and Alex Vitro represented ASA Apple in the site search and lease negotiation, the firm said in a news release. CBRE’s Tom Monahan represented Prologis.
“Our client needed a (New Jersey) Turnpike-accessible location proximate to its other facilities in and around the Port Newark-Elizabeth area,” Mirliss said. “This property fulfilled its geographic requirements, along with above-standard trailer parking, which was another prerequisite.”
ASA Apple is a public warehouse and intermodal transportation company operating in the Port of New York region, Colliers said. The 32-year-old organization specializes in overseas traffic coordination and end-to-end process management.
Its new lease comes as availability continues to tighten in New Jersey’s port submarket and all along the Turnpike corridor, Mirliss said.
“It is becoming more challenging to find product that satisfies specific tenant needs at acceptable financial terms,” he said. “Prologis was responsive and accommodating, and this building offers modern, quality construction — making it a great fit for ASA Apple.”
