A developer has opened the doors to a new hotel in Berkeley Heights, aiming to capture demand from the region’s network of life sciences companies and other corporate users.
Located off Interstate 78, the new Embassy Suites by Hilton has brought 176 suites and a long list of amenities to the Connell Corporate Park. The owner of the park, Connell Real Estate & Development Co., built and owns the property through its Connell Hospitality LLC affiliate, while Davidson Hotels and Resorts serves as the manager.
The team touted the hotel’s urban feel amidst the rolling hills of Berkeley Heights and a location in the heart of Central Jersey’s pharma country. The property is also just 15 miles from Newark Liberty International Airport and about 15 minutes from the Summit train station.
“Guests will be able to enjoy value-added amenities and features, including the property’s on-site restaurant and unique outdoor space, at the new Embassy Suites by Hilton in Berkeley Heights,” said Alan Roberts, global head of Embassy Suites by Hilton. “The hotel’s proximity to Newark Liberty International Airport and New York City provides the ideal location for business trips to the city and for leisure travelers looking to explore Central New Jersey.”

The hotel operator said its rooms are decorated in an Americana style, with a mix that includes 52 deluxe suites with views of the Watchung Mountains and 43 studio suites. The property also has an outdoor patio with a fire pit, adjacent to a 2,400-square-foot solarium, as well as The Grove at Connell Center, which features an additional 10,000 square feet of outdoor space.
Other offerings include an on-site restaurant, Grain & Cane, along with a full-service Starbucks that has a vintage library lounge, according to a news release. The hotel also has amenities such as an indoor pool, 24-hour fitness center and jogging and walking trails.
Meantime, the operator touted more than 18,000 square feet of flexible function space, indoor and outdoor spaces and a 24-hour business center.
“The design of our Berkeley Heights location is inspired by the natural surroundings of New Jersey — the modern farmhouse, which includes stone walls, unique barn doors and warm wood tones,” said Ian Brodsky, general manager of the Embassy Suites by Hilton Berkeley Heights. “Guests will be able to relax in the warm and inviting atmosphere while enjoying breakfast or a cocktail and snacks at the Evening Reception.”
