MAHONEY NAMED PRINCIPAL WITH GENSLER N.J. TEAM
Gensler has named longtime architect Erin Mahoney as the latest principal in its Morristown office, touting her technical prowess and her more than 25 years of experience.
The global design firm said Mahoney has been with its team since 2006 and focuses on a range of practice areas, including headquarters, building repositioning, media, technology
and law firm workplaces. As technical director, she specializes in refining architectural processes and mitigating risk, which translates into established best practices and value for clients.
Her expertise also includes optimization of the design and
delivery process for building repositioning projects to create spaces that are flexible, efficient and attractive to prospective tenants, Gensler said, a critical issue in today’s post-pandemic commercial real estate market.
“Erin has been instrumental in the growth of our
projects — and
our people — in
our Morristown office,” said Becky Button, co-managing director of
the Gensler
Morristown
office. “It’s not only her precision and problem-solving that make her a champion of technical excellence, but her passion and commitment
to shaping the next generation of architects.”
The firm added that Mahoney’s leadership was essential to the plan to reposition Newark’s Gateway complex, which transformed the cluster of dated office buildings
into a large mixed-use destination. It also pointed to her involvement
in the design of an award-winning headquarters for the pharmaceutical firms Organon and Bristol
Myers Squibb in Jersey City and Lawrenceville, respectively.
Mahoney is a registered architect
in New Jersey, an accredited professional under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design scale and is certified in construction documents technology, according to a news release. She holds a bachelor’s in environmental design in architecture from North Carolina State University and a master’s in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.
