   The Hampshire Cos. and Circle Squared Alternative Investments joined officials from Mountainside Medical Center and Hackensack Meridian Health on Jan. 10 to unveil a new 45,735-square-foot medical office building in Glen Ridge and Montclair.
The New Jersey Hospital Association recently honored Marc E. Berson, chairman of the Fidelco Group, as its Trustee of the Year in recognition of his service as a longtime board member in the RWJBarnabas Health System, including more than 18 years spent as board chairman at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and The Children’s Hospital of New Jersey. Berson, currently the RWJBarnabas board chairman, received the award Jan. 31 during the NJHA’s 101st Annual Meeting at the Hyatt Regency Princeton.
Rahway Mayor Raymond Giacobbe (center) joined development officials from Fields Grade and The Slokker Group on Jan. 17 for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the grand opening of The Mint, a new 116-unit luxury rental building located steps from NJ Transit’s Rahway station.
Hitachi Chemical Co. Ltd. welcomed Gov. Phil Murphy and other dignitaries on Jan. 29 to cut the ribbon on the new Hitachi Chemical Advanced Therapeutics Solutions cell and gene therapy manufacturing facility at 75 Commerce Drive in Allendale.

   Hoboken Mayor Ravinder Bhalla led a special ribbon-cutting Jan. 15 to mark the grand opening of bwe North End, a new coffee shop at 1401 Adams St. in the city’s burgeoning north end. The 2,000-square-foot store will also feature a collaboration with Little City Books and Park & Bloom floral design. Joining Bhalla were the owners of bwé Kafe, Little City Books and Park & Bloom, representatives of developer Bijou Properties and other municipal and business leaders.
    Red Bank-based Denholtz Properties and Defined Logic teamed with Fins and Feathers of Red Bank during the holiday break to raise funds and supplies for CASA: Coalition of Advocates for Shelter Animals. The companies said they sought to make a difference during a time of year in which animals are often forgotten.
