OUR CLIENTS
From international REITs to local developers and family businesses, our clients all have one thing in common: they face a challenge impacting the value of real estate, requiring advocacy, creativity and expertise.
OUR ADVANTAGE
Bigger isn’t always better. Small firms are smart firms
in the legal marketplace, offering quality service at reasonable rates and entrepreneurial fee arrangements. CWAH provides value-added services for our clients.
ON THE HORIZON
An uncertain real estate market impacted by volatile macro-economics and rising interest rates requires expertise to reduce costs through property tax reductions, creative tax arrangements through PILOT agreements and maximizing zoning through redevelopment.
TRANSACTION SPOTLIGHT
While CWAH attorneys routinely represent taxpayers and municipalities in tax court, our tax expertise was highlighted in the representation of a hotel developer
stuck in a burdensome PILOT agreement. While the PILOT agreement was originally conceived as an incentive to make a significant real estate investment, the big-law attorney who negotiated the initial agreement did not consider how the taxation methodology could adversely impact the hotel business. CWAH attorneys worked for the hotel developer to renegotiate the terms of the PILOT to ensure the future success of the project.
