A Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen franchisee is the latest retailer to join a 94,000-square-foot shopping center in the southern end of Jersey City, according to the property’s manager.
Levin Management Corp., which oversees the Twin City Shopping Center, announced Tuesday that Popeyes had leased 2,000 square feet. The new location, at Garfield Avenue and West 55th Street, gives the New Orleans-themed chain a store near the Bayonne border and just off Exit 14A of the New Jersey Turnpike.
The North Plainfield-based management firm orchestrated the long-term lease at the grocery-anchored property.
“Quick-service and fast-casual restaurants are increasingly popular with today’s consumers,” said E.J. Moawad, LMC’s leasing representative for Twin City Shopping Center. “The addition of a nationally recognized brand like Popeyes adds an exciting new dining element to this property.
“Retailers are attracted to Twin City Shopping Center’s central location, outstanding daytime and residential demographics, and excellent daily consumer traffic. We expect this tenant to enjoy great success here.”
Levin said Popeyes joins a tenant mix that includes Aqui Market, a new Retro Fitness, Everything $.99, Wendy’s and Dunkin Donuts, among others. Twin City Shopping Center serves a growing residential population of more than 183,000 people within a three-mile radius.
