Di Cara | Rubino Architects has named three new principals after a series of promotions at the Wayne-based firm.
Allen Barnett
In a news release, the practice said Allen Barnett, Allison Sroka and Roderick Watkins bring decades of combined experience to their new positions. The promotions were effective Oct. 1, with each coming from the firm’s project management staff to join current principals Jerry Rubino and Joseph Di Cara.
“We are extremely proud to announce that Allen, Allison and Rodney have all been promoted to the position of principal at Di Cara | Rubino Architects,” said Rubino, the firm’s founding principal. “Both Joe Di Cara and I are confident that the three of them will continue to provide outstanding service to our current and future clients. Their advancement within the firm reflects their dedication, talent and technical skills, as well as the relationships that they have forged as they worked closely with all of our clients.”
Allison Sroka
The firm said Barnett boasts nearly 30 years of experience in the design and project management of a mix of building types, according to the news release. He joined Di Cara | Rubino as a senior project manager in 2008, working with clients on the planning and coordination of projects ranging from renovations to adaptive building reuse and new construction.
As principal, the firm said Allen will use his experience to lead its design teams from project conception to completion.
Roderick Watkins
Having joined Di Cara | Rubino in 2009 as a staff architect, Sroka has used her knowledge of complex design methodologies and client relationship-building skills to rise first to the role of project manager, the news release said. The firm touted her detail-oriented approach and ability to coordinate design concepts and drawings with its project teams and outside consultants, as well as with its interiors department.
For his part, Watkins joined the practice in 2001 and has since helped to design and oversee many of the firm’s flagship projects. He has done so while building an expertise in the academic facility design and construction process, the firm said, citing his work in school referendums, facility improvement and construction projects and long-range facility plans.
Barnett, Sroka and Watkins continue to provide guidance and oversight on all of their current and future projects.
