A bridal salon has leased nearly 6,000 square feet at a retail property in Rochelle Park, brokers with Cushman & Wakefield said, bringing the newly developed asset to full occupancy.
The leasing team announced this week that Brides by Young has taken 5,650 square feet at the Shops at Liberty Plaza, in a transaction with landlord Alesso Holding Co. The deal marks the salon’s first New Jersey location and third overall, placing it alongside Starbucks at the Route 17 property.
C&W’s David Townes and Alana Friedman, who lead the firm’s New Jersey retail leasing team, represented ownership. Patrick Varelas from RE/MAX Traditions Real Estate represented Brides by Young, which bills itself as the world’s largest “curvy” bridal boutique, with sample sizes ranging from 14 to 34 and more than 400 dress styles in each store.
“Our team produced multiple offers on this property — both for full occupancy and subdivisions of the remaining vacancy,” Townes said. “Shops at Liberty Plaza checks every box. It offers brand-new construction with attractive modern storefronts, direct access from Route 17 and the benefit of a daily traffic count exceeding 121,000 vehicles.”
Friedman added that specialty retailers looking to plant their flag in a new market often flock to the highly coveted Route 17 corridor.
“This market is highly sought after due to its longstanding status as a major regional retail hub, with record-breaking sales numbers, traffic counts and outstanding accessibility,” she said. “As brokers, we recognize a need for specialty offerings more and more, and understand the great demand for quality within the Greater Bergen County market. This new tenant is a great fit for the marketplace.”
