Continental Properties has tapped a former longtime Weichert executive to help guide and grow its development pipeline in the region.

John G. Udell, who joins the firm as a principal, comes to the post with more than 30 years of experience and development and transaction activity valued in the billions, according to a news release. He most recently served as president of Weichert Development Co. and will now work alongside Continental’s Erwin Fisch and Mark Fisch.
“Our working relationship with John has been on a variety of projects in many capacities over the years and we are excited to have him on our team,” said Erwin Fisch, who founded the firm more than 50 years ago. “We welcome John to the Continental team, and we will be increasing our project pipeline.
“We also look forward to integrating with the talented team at Continental Properties and industry professionals on future projects.”
In its announcement, the firm noted that Udell is a Life Director of the Community Builders Association and an accomplished athlete, whose accolades include being a three-time All-American and induction to the Johnson State College Athletics Hall of Fame.
“When you love what you do, it’s not work,” said Mark Fisch, a co-managing principal of Continental. “Erwin’s leadership combined with John’s talent and passion for real estate development is a win-win for everyone.”
Udell will work from the company’s Woodbridge and Manhattan offices.
“I will utilize my experience, industry connections and professional skills to grow Continental by expanding their portfolio as it moves forward with its latest community in Livingston,” Udell said, noting that the project includes 166 apartment across from the Livingston Mall. “I am grateful for my time at Weichert. I look forward to leveraging my years in the industry at Continental Properties during this exciting period in the firm’s growth.”
