Denholtz Properties has hired a new multifamily regional manager for its growing apartment portfolio in the Southeast, the Red Bank-based firm announced.
In a news release, Denholtz said Derek Janney brings 10 years of experience in proactive community management. He will look to leverage that background to streamline operations across a portfolio that includes a 384-unit luxury rental complex outside Nashville, seeking to more efficiently onboard and lease up properties as it acquires them.
“As we expand our southeastern multifamily portfolio, it’s critical that we continue to build a property management team that can cultivate an unmatched residential experience across our portfolio,” said Greg Brown, Denholtz’s chief operating officer. “Derek’s considerable experience in the Southeast and proven expertise in implementing strategies that drive immediate results will be essential as we grow.”
Janney is a former senior property manager for Greystar, the global real estate investor, developer and manager, where he oversaw a portfolio of 1,800 units and successfully leased up multiple properties while achieving 92 percent occupancy or higher across all properties he managed, the news release said. He has also held property management positions with RWK Residential and PRG Real Estate.
“Throughout my career, I’ve taken great pride in creating meaningful outcomes at a wide range of multifamily properties,” Janney said. “As I step into my new role, I look forward to leveraging my experience to continue to build upon Denholtz Properties’ reputation for superior asset management and operational excellence across the region.”
The hiring comes after Denholtz’s acquisition last year of Overall Creek, a 384-unit complex at 5150 Jack Byrnes Drive in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, which is less than 30 minutes from downtown Nashville. The firm has also bolstered its multifamily team with the addition of Jehna Kubichek as a regional residential support coordinator.
The company added that, with nearly 15 years of experience in property management, Kubichek will ensure proper support, coordination, training for new team members, onboarding of new properties and auditing across its multifamily properties. She will also act as a liaison for Denholtz Properties, on-site property managers and residents in all lease compliance-related issues.
