Doren Development has acquired a drive-thru restaurant property in Mount Holly that’s now slated to become a new location for Bojangles, the Southern-style restaurant chain.
The firm, which is based in Passaic, plans to lease the building at 1643 Route 38 to a franchisee of the fast-growing concept. That will help revitalize the former Colbie’s Southern Kissed Chicken location, which closed last year, bringing a new operator to Doren Development’s growing portfolio of restaurant tenants.
Bojangles, whose menu includes fried chicken, buttermilk biscuits and tea, has ambitious growth plans in New Jersey and the Northeast. The company said recently that it was on track to add dozens of locations in the Garden State alone, as it looks to expand a footprint that includes some 800 stores in 17 states.
“We are excited to bring Bojangles to Mount Holly and further invest in one of Burlington County’s most active retail corridors,” said Anthony Doren, the company’s director of leasing. “Route 38 continues to experience strong traffic volumes and retail demand, making it an ideal location for a nationally recognized brand like Bojangles.”
