Dresdner Robin has picked a 10-year veteran of the firm as its new director of landscape architecture, the land use consultancy announced Wednesday.
The practice, which is based in Jersey City, said Lauren K. Venin moves into the role with more than two decades of experience in the discipline. As landscape architecture practice leader, she will be charged with shaping the creative direction of the team and further elevating its level of client service, the firm noted, touting her innovative approach to design and a deep understanding of environmental responsibility.
“Lauren is an inspiring mentor and a source of unwavering support,” said Matthew Neuls, director of engineering services at Dresdner Robin. “Her leadership style promotes a collaborative and inclusive work environment, valuing and nurturing the unique talents of all team members. She understands project goals, preferences and budgets, focusing on creating designs that not only meet functional requirements but also exceed clients’ expectations.”
The firm added that throughout her tenure, Venin has handled diverse and challenging projects such as the development of Berry Lane Park, one of Jersey City’s largest new open spaces, along with complex brownfields redevelopment projects, modern assisted-living facilities and several mixed-use residential developments with extensive roof amenity terraces.
“I am excited to embrace this new chapter as the director of landscape architecture at Dresdner Robin,” Venin said. “Landscape architecture has the power to transform communities, and this promotion makes me grateful for the opportunity to lead a talented team in delivering sustainable and innovative design solutions. I also am committed to upholding our firm’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and client satisfaction, while continuing to create exceptional spaces that enrich communities and inspire future generations.”
Venin holds a bachelor’s in landscape architecture from Rutgers University, according to a news release. In addition to her professional career, she has been involved in flood mitigation and open space management in her home community for more than a decade, resulting in the formation of both a stormwater management committee and a trails committee.
