An architecture and design firm has announced five promotions within its New Jersey office.

Mark Giessen, a member of the ENV New Jersey team for the past 24 years, is now a principal on its Englewood Cliffs-based team, according to a news release. The firm announced the promotion on Monday, noting that he has assisted in leading its higher education, industrial, residential and life science studios in the design of projects such as The School of Business at Montclair State University and Allen Flavors’ headquarters facility.
“With Mark’s continued leadership within the firm, we are proud to have Mark act as firm principal,” ENV said in its announcement. “Mark will now bring his levels of leadership and team communication to the entire firm’s studio setting.”

The practice also announced that it has elevated Maria Periera to senior associate principal. Acting as lead within ENV’s K-12 academic, historic preservation and building envelope studios over the past 22 years, she handles projects ranging from water infiltration to complete ground-up designs of public school additions.
Also rising to senior associate principal is Gus Arnone, a leader within the firm’s K-12 academic, industrial, life science and hospitality studios, the news release said. He has been with the firm for 22 years, having worked with school districts, large corporations including Stryker and Zeus Industrial and teams involved in more than five travel plazas throughout the country.

“Now acting as senior associate, Maria will continue her mentorship throughout ENV as her teams take on various large-scale renovation projects for the 2022 year,” the firm said of Periera’s promotion. Of Arnone, it added: “As a senior associate, Gus will continue to lead his teams as the firm grows in each of these respective sectors.”

Meantime, ENV has promoted both Deasy Campione and Daniel Badurina to associate principal. Campione, for her part, has spent the past 16 years leading ENV’s interiors division and has touched every studio within the firm, bringing her expertise to its hospitality, corporate and educational clients and working on airports throughout the country.
Additionally, Campione has supported large name brands such as Subaru, Roche Molecular and Allen Flavors. In the new role, the practice said she “will continue to lead the various teams throughout the firm and help promote the overall growth of ENV.”

Badurina’s five-year tenure with ENV has included projects with hospitality, higher education and religious institutions. He oversees projects ranging from window replacements to comprehensive academic additions for clients such as Adelphi University, New York University and Barnard College and “will now begin his role as a firm leader supporting not only his studios but the firm’s overall growth,” the announcement said.
