in managing complex development
projects, extensive knowledge of local
politics and governance and ability

on repurposing and redeveloping
corporate campuses and malls. Day
Pitney’s attorneys also excel at guiding

that attract public opposition, offering
strategic solutions that balance

community concerns.

attorneys fi rmwide, is recognized
as a leader in land use and zoning.

ON THE HORIZON
Day Pitney’s RELU group in New
Jersey continues to grow based upon
its excellent roster of sophisticated
developers, institutional investors,
REITs and publicly traded companies.
Over the past few years, Day Pitney
has been able to guide clients
on the intersection of outdated,
vacant offi ce and retail buildings
and municipal obligations to
address affordable housing, which
has led to a large number of big
“R” redevelopment and little “r”
redevelopment projects on behalf
of clients. Day Pitney has always
had a strong multifamily residential
development practice, which will only
continue to grow with the Fourth
Round Affordable Housing cycle.
Further, though it is more diffi cult
to obtain development approvals
for new warehouses, activity in the
industrial warehouse market will grow
whether it’s for those that are able
to get new warehouses approved
or rehabilitating existing Class B or
C space to Class A space. Creativity
on the structuring of many of these
deals, including joint ventures, will
also grow given the diffi culties and
costs in redeveloping properties.
