A top redevelopment and land use attorney with Greenbaum Rowe Smith & Davis LLP has been elected vice president of the Community Associations Institute’s New Jersey chapter.
The firm this week announced the new role for Steven G. Mlenak, who serves on CAI-NJ’s executive board, noting that the organization aims to enhance community association living through education, legislative advocacy, shared resources and professional development to homeowner members and their professionals. As vice president, he is expected to proceed in lockstep to become president-elect in 2024 and president of CAI-NJ in 2025.
Mlenak, co-chair of Greenbaum’s redevelopment and land use department, is also a member of the firm’s community association practice group and maintains a strong focus in community association law. In that capacity, he counsels condominium and homeowners association clients across a range of legal issues, including the interpretation and amendment of governing documents and bylaws, drafting contracts, collection of delinquent assessments, the enforcement of rules and regulations and operational and maintenance issues, among others.
He also represents clients in construction defect litigation, Fair Housing discrimination cases and landlord-tenant matters.
