Iron Hill Construction Management has broken ground on a nearly 122,000-square-foot warehouse in Parsippany, where Link Logistics is repurposing a former vacant office property.
According to a news release, the facility at 2 Hilton Court will replace the former U.S. headquarters of pharmaceutical firm Daiichi Sankyo, which was recently demolished as part of Link’s redevelopment of the site. Vertical construction is set to begin in April, the construction manager and J.G. Petrucci Co. Inc. affiliate said, noting that the precast panel industrial building is designed to achieve certification on the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design scale.
“We’re excited to be a part of revitalizing this site,” said Steve Hull, vice president of Iron Hill. “Projects like this are all about turning potential into progress, and we’re excited to get things moving for Link Logistics.”
For the developer, the real estate arm of private equity giant Blackstone, the 121,644-square-foot facility will be among the latest additions to a fast-growing industrial portfolio in New Jersey.
“Our latest build-to-suit showcases Link Logistics’ expertise in site selection, redevelopment and execution, and we’re proud to partner with our customer on this transformative project,” said Timothy Aguilar, senior vice president for development with Link Logistics. “With the town’s support, we’re transforming a vacant office building into a high-performing, best-in-class facility that will help drive the customer’s operational success for years to come.”
