Dollar Tree has taken 15,000 square feet for a new location on Route 9 in Howell, in a transaction announced Thursday by Levin Management Corp.
According to the leasing team, the discount variety store chain will fill half of a former Bed, Bath & Beyond space at the 128,000-square-foot Aldrich Plaza shopping center. LMC Senior Leasing Representative E.J. Moawad represented the landlord in the deal, while R.J. Brunelli & Co. President Danielle Brunelli represented the tenant.
“Discount retail is among the industry’s strongest subsectors today,” Moawad said. “By diversifying its product offerings over the past several years, Dollar Tree is solidifying its position as a shopping destination for price-conscious consumers.”
In announcing the deal, LMC noted that Dollar Tree carries a broad mix of consumable, variety and seasonal merchandise and allows customers to find new items every week, from everyday essentials to craft, seasonal and party merchandise. The growing chain has seen a 14 percent increase in visits from January 2020 to January 2024, according to real-time data from Placer.ai.
Moawad added that Dollar Tree is actively expanding its footprint in high-quality, convenient locations, prompting its deal at Aldrich Plaza. Anchored by Walgreens, the center at 4053 Route 9 is home to Retro Fitness, My Salon Suite, Norman’s Hallmark, Salon Centric, AT&T, Big City Bagels & Salads and Bubbakoo’s Burritos, plus a Nothing Bundt Cakes store that will open soon and a host of neighborhood businesses.
Aldrich Plaza serves a residential population of more than 143,000 people within a five-mile radius, according to a news release. That figures to be a draw for other prospective tenants as LMC continues to market the 15,400-square-foot balance of the former Bed, Bath & Beyond store and other spaces at the property.
