A salon studio business is expanding in New Jersey with a new 12,000-square-foot lease at a Bridgewater shopping center, according to a team with Levin Management Corp.
The operator, Strand Salon Studios, will join a mix of stores, restaurants and service providers at the 219,000-square-foot Somerset Shopping Center at the junction of Route 202/206 and Route 28, LMC said in a news release. The space will follow five existing New Jersey locations, where it provides customizable, high-end room rentals to hair stylists and other independent wellness and beauty professionals.
LMC Senior Leasing Representative Vanessa Fernandez-Kelty represented ownership, while Shane Wierks of Jeffery Realty represented the tenant.
“Beauty, health and wellness concepts are active players in today’s retail landscape,” Fernandez-Kelty said. “Within that category, the salon suite business model is growing at a rapid pace. Strand Salon Studios is a great addition to Somerset Shopping Center, one that reinforces the property’s reputation as a destination for best-in-class tenants.”
According to LMC, Somerset Shopping Center draws almost 1.2 million visits per year, according to real-time traffic data from Placer.ai, while 72,000 vehicles pass by the property daily and nearly 122,000 people live within five miles. The average household income within those same five miles is $140,000.
Strand Salon Studios’ other New Jersey locations include Englewood, Long Branch, Pompton Plains/Wayne and two in Paramus, the news release said. Its neighbors at Somerset Shopping Center will include Christmas Tree Shops, Barnes & Noble, Fortunoff Backyard Store, Gap Factory and others.
