Lowe’s Home Centers Inc. has leased more than 100,000 square feet of new industrial space in Hamilton, filling the second piece of a speculative development near Interstate 295.
According to Corporate America Realty & Advisors, which represented ownership in the deal, the Fortune 50 company is taking 102,575 square feet at 58 Thomas J. Rhodes Industrial Drive. Its new space will have a 36-foot clear ceiling height, wide bay sizes, a 60-foot speed bay and 30 tailboard loading docks and drive-ins, offering a location that’s also minutes from Route 1, Interstate 195 and other major roadways.
Corporate America Realty President Howard Applebaum completed the deal on behalf of the developer, 58 Thomas J Rhodes Industrial Drive LLC, while JLL Executive Vice President Nate Demetsky was the tenant’s co-broker.
The transaction follows the lease-up of a sister building, at 17 Thomas J. Rhodes Industrial Drive, where used clothing wholesaler A&E Clothing Inc. will occupy 114,873 square feet. Applebaum also represented ownership in that deal, having brokered the sale of the overall development parcels to the builder.
Applebaum noted that Lowe’s, the home improvement giant, has more than 2,200 stores in the United States and Canada.
