A competitive cheerleading program has leased more than 9,000 square feet at a Meadowlands industrial building, brokers with NAI James E. Hanson announced Tuesday.
The user, Meadowlands Starz Cheer, is moving from Clifton to its new training facility at 1 Madison St. in East Rutherford. It will occupy 9,178 square feet under a lease with Kelways Associates, the landlord at the 65,000-square-foot building just east of Route 21.
NAI Hanson’s Andrew Somple and Jessica Curry represented both parties, noting that Meadowlands Starz Cheer is marking its return to the Bergen County borough.
“Considering their reputation as an elite regional cheer program, Meadowlands Starz Cheer needed a space that was both easily accessible and adaptable to their specific needs,” Somple said. “This new space aligns perfectly with their plans and puts them in a position to continue building their impressive program. We’re proud to have provided the real estate services needed to make it a reality and bring them back to East Rutherford.”
Operated by coach Michele Cusimano-Stirone, Meadowlands Starz Cheer focuses on empowering young athletes and motivating them to reach their goals, according to a news release. Its deep ties to the East Rutherford community and membership with the Meadowlands Chamber inspired the organization to move its training facility back to East Rutherford.
