Another broker with NAI James E. Hanson has joined the ranks of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, making him the 12th current member of the firm to hold the designation.
Christopher Todd, a vice president with NAI Hanson, joined the company in 2013 and has achieved the SIOR title thanks in part to his transaction volume, conduct and completion of stringent educational requirements. He is now among only about 3,600 producers globally and around 70 in New Jersey who hold the designation.
“Since 1941, the SIOR designation has been synonymous with excellence in the global commercial real estate field,” said NAI Hanson President William C. Hanson, a longtime SIOR member. “In every stage of his career, Chris has exemplified SIOR’s core standards of ability, integrity and sincerity on his path to becoming one of New Jersey’s most trusted commercial real estate brokers. I applaud him on this tremendous honor and am grateful to have him on the NAI James E. Hanson team.”
The Teterboro-based firm said Todd quickly became a sought-after commercial real estate expert within the highly competitive northern New Jersey marketplace and a valued member of the company’s leadership team, working alongside Senior Vice President and SIOR Scott K. Perkins. NAI Hanson also cited Todd’s work ethic, relationships in the market, focus on professional development and deep involvement in complex sale and lease transactions across the region, which have enabled him to gain a deep understanding of the industrial landscape.
Over his career, Todd has helped negotiate some 83 industrial sales and leases spanning 4.9 million square feet and $364 million in value, according to a news release. They include the $24.5 million sale-leaseback of 66-96 East Union St. in East Rutherford, one of the largest deals of his tenure, which was negotiated at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Todd has also been instrumental in the sales of a 208,000-square-foot industrial building at 200 Maltese Drive in Totowa and an 8.25-acre development site at 349-369 First St. in Elizabeth, the news release said. Additionally, he has brokered the sale and lease of a 110,000-square-foot industrial facility at 7300 West Side Ave. in North Bergen.
SIOR’s membership spans 722 cities in 45 countries. NAI Hanson is home to the most SIORs of any commercial real estate brokerage in New Jersey, including Barry J. Cohorsky, Jeffrey W. DeMagistris, Peter O. Hanson, William C. Hanson, W. Joshua Levering, Kenneth D. Lundberg, Perkins, Andrew Somple, Russell Verducci, Thomas A. Vetter and Michael G. Walters. Additionally, Perkins and Vetter are past presidents of SIOR’s New Jersey chapter.
