NAI DiLeo-Bram & Co. is honoring its longtime business and senior marketing coordinator and several other key team members as part of its Women’s History Month observance.
The Woodbridge-based firm recently presented Jenny Sciortino, who holds the business and marketing post, with its Spotlight Award in recognition of her impact on advancing its workplace culture, mission and service, according to a news release. She has been with NAIDB since 1985, the company said, noting that the honor is given annually to an individual who humanizes the employee experience and embraces the firm’s culture.
NAIDB added that the award is named in memory of Jeff Jones, an office and retail specialist, who died in 2019 and is remembered for his ethics, drive, collaborative nature, sense of humor and dedication to his family, friends, clients and community.
“Jenny plays a critical role in many aspects of our business and she is relied upon daily by our brokerage team,” said David Simon, NAIDB’s chief operating officer. “In addition to the exceptional work that she produces, she is always accommodating, friendly and positive. We appreciate and value the importance of Jenny’s contributions within our organization and felt that she deserved this award of distinction.”
In addition to honoring Sciortino, NAIDB is marking the month of March by featuring the contributions of Kelly Bayer and Catherine Goski, associate vice presidents, as well as Elena DiLeo, marketing coordinator.
“I think that the commercial real estate industry has been male-dominated for so long that women don’t often think of it — or leadership within this sector — as an option,” said Bayer, who noted that she launched her career in commercial real estate on an all-female brokerage team with a chief operating officer who was a woman.
“At NAIDB, I feel extremely valued and acknowledged,” she said. “I believe that the best way to give women, especially young women, the confidence to enter this field is to be active and show them that we are already here and doing it!”
Goski added: “Being a young woman in a male-dominated industry was somewhat intimidating early on. At the end of the day, people want to deal with individuals who are honest and knowledgeable, regardless of gender, ethnicity or age. Commercial real estate is a great career choice for anyone who is motivated to succeed and has an internal drive to continually learn.”
DiLeo, for her part, noted the excitement of being a fourth-generation commercial real estate business professional.
“Joining NAIDB’s marketing team gives me the ability to help shape our external marketing and branding efforts,” she said. “At NAIDB, I’m encouraged and feel supported in advocating for and helping to advance equity, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of our business.”
