Playa Bowls is coming to a newly built shopping center in Old Bridge under a 1,500-square-foot lease arranged by Platinum Realty Services Corp.
According to the brokerage firm, the business at Glenwood Green Shopping Center on Route 9 will be the fifth for franchisee Bobby Howell. The popular acai bowl and smoothie shop is slated to open in early June, adding to the growing list of prominent retailers at the development including Target, ShopRite, Wawa, Shake Shack, Chipotle and others.
David Hellman of Platinum Realty Services Corp. represented Howell in the deal with Kraft Development II LLC.
“I expect a phenomenal opening for Playa Bowls at Glenwood Green,” Howell said. “The area has awaited completion of this shopping center being developed by Regency Centers for a long, long time. New and existing customers of Playa Bowls always look forward to Playa Bowls grand openings which feature discounts, entertainment and giveaways, complementing Playa Bowls menu of always fresh, healthy-licious menu featuring bowls and smoothies with sustainability and community in mind.”
Hellman has also represented Howell, a seasoned restauranteur and competitive surfer, in leases in Holmdel, Florham Park, Morristown and Whitehouse Station.
“I appreciate the solid relationship with Bobby and his confidence shown toward me to represent his Playa Bowls rollout, as well as the expertise throughout the negotiations by Bobby’s attorney, Scott Palatucci of Trif & Modugno,” Hellman said. “The professionalism shown by the entire staff and attorney of Regency Centers throughout the transaction allowed the transaction to flow pretty smoothly as well.”
