A trade group has extended its lease for a key training facility in the Somerset section of Franklin, brokers with Sheldon Gross Realty announced Wednesday.

According to a news release, the New Jersey Independent Electrical Contractors Association occupies 5,000 square feet at 20 Worlds Fair Drive under a deal with First Industrial Realty Trust. The space, located within a 30,000-square-foot flex-industrial building, supports programs that combine classroom instruction with hands-on training to prepare electricians and electrical contractors for careers throughout New Jersey and beyond.

Sheldon Gross President Marcy Gross and Vice President Eric Weston managed the extension, the firm said, noting that it also brokered NJIEC’s original lease three years ago.

“This space on Worlds Fair Drive continues to be an excellent fit for NJIEC,” Gross said. “It enables them to do everything they need to in terms of instruction, while its central location is easily accessible to students from throughout the state.”
