A longtime property owner in Roselle has sold two commercial buildings on one of the borough’s main thoroughfares, in a transaction arranged by Zimmel Associates.
According to the brokerage firm, the deal at 223-235 St. George Ave. includes a 2,600-square-foot Jiffy Lube and an adjacent 2,663-square-foot structure with a hair salon on the ground floor and two residential units above. The properties, which total three-quarters of an acre, traded for $1.2 million.
Zimmel Associates Vice President Jordan Zimmel brokered the sale, touting the buildings’ high visibility and substantial foot traffic. He also cited prominent tenants nearby, including McDonald’s, as well as Roselle’s school system and proximity to major highways such as Route 1&9.
“The owner of this complex essentially owned the entire street, gradually subdividing and selling off each building,” Zimmel said. “These were the last two in their portfolio on the street. Our strong relationship with the owner, who also happens to be a tenant in one of our buildings, was key in securing the sale of these properties. This sale marks the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter for this prime location.”
