A longtime Hoffman-LaRoche engineering manager in New Jersey has found a new home at PS&S, the Warren-based engineering and architecture firm.
The company said Wednesday that it has hired Walter Fedick as senior director of its MEPF and Process Engineering Department. He comes to PS&S after nearly four decades at what the firm said was a large pharmaceutical client in northern New Jersey, Roche, most recently as senior manager of engineering.
The move also comes about 20 years after Fedick was first introduced to PS&S, when he was looking to partner with an engineering firm for small projects on his campus, according to a news release. After considering several firms, he chose PS&S “because it was a good fit with the right people.”
His new employer says that now, years later, his “skills and experience are the right fit for PS&S.”
“We are delighted that Walt is bringing his years of pharmaceutical experience to PS&S,” said Tom Heim, the firm’s chief operating officer. “He will be an incredible asset for us as we round out our pharma group. His contributions will be felt, not only in our MEPF group, but in many of our integrated services such as environmental remediation.”
MEPF often refers to mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Fedick said he has “two main goals as I begin my work at PS&S.”
“The first is to grow and improve our outstanding MEPF group,” he said. “The second is to bridge the gap between the pharma industry and PS&S.
“I managed an engineering department at a major pharmaceutical company so I know what potential clients are looking for as they choose their partner firms. I have been in their shoes.”
