Circulate NJ has welcomed The Blau & Berg Co. and Atlantic Handling Systems as its newest members, bolstering its ranks as the business coalition promotes the economic benefits of the state’s far-reaching logistics sector.
According to a news release, the firms join Circulate NJ’s actively expanding list of more than 35 member organizations, a group that spans port workers, warehouse owners, retail developers, trucking companies and more. Short Hills-based Blau & Berg is a brokerage firm with nearly a century of history in New Jersey and deep ties to the industrial sector, while Atlantic Handling Systems is a Fair Lawn-based firm that has designed, supplied and serviced all types of material handling equipment for more than 40 years.
“We are excited to have Atlantic Handling Systems and The Blau & Berg Company as the newest members of the Circulate NJ team,” said David Greek, chair of Circulate NJ and managing partner of Greek Real Estate Partners. “Each brings unique expertise and vast experience in logistics. This institutional knowledge will be incredibly helpful in our efforts to educate the public on the importance of New Jersey’s logistics industry.”
In announcing the new members, Circulate NJ noted that Blau & Berg provides services in the industrial, retail and office spaces. They include site selection, acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, tenant representation, portfolio sales, asset repositioning and property and construction consulting.
Atlantic Handling, for its part, provides customers in a wide range of industries with supply chain solutions, according to a news release. They are one of the largest suppliers of material handling equipment in the Northeast.
Circulate NJ expects to announce more members in the coming weeks and months, following its launch late last year to raise the profile of New Jersey’s logistics sector and defend against rhetoric that has stalled a growing number of warehouse developments in recent years. It has since debuted a public awareness campaign highlighting the industry’s impact and key data from the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development.
Notably, the transportation, logistics and distribution industry:
- Supports more than 400,000 jobs
- Employs 12 percent of the state’s private work force and provides 12.7 percent of New Jersey private-sector wages
- Provides an average $75,000 annual industry salary
- Contributes $62.5 billion, or 10 percent, to New Jersey’s overall GDP
Circulate NJ notes that its members have also taken the lead in cleaning up contaminated brownfield sites, often spending millions to rehabilitate and make them usable for the public.
