Solar Landscape and Casdale Energy Cost Management have joined Circulate NJ, adding to the business coalition’s roster of top players in New Jersey’s industrial real estate sector.
The organization, which is built on promoting the economic benefits of the state’s far-reaching logistics sector, said its membership now includes more than 40 companies, trade associations and other entities. That roster has grown quickly since the coalition’s launch last fall and the start of a new public awareness campaign, seeking to share information on the transportation, logistics and distribution industries and defuse the hostile rhetoric and misinformation that has derailed a growing number of warehouse projects in recent years.
“Solar Landscape and Casdale Energy Cost Management bring sustainability expertise to the coalition, along with unique perspectives on several components of the logistics industry,” said David Greek, chair of Circulate NJ and managing partner of East Brunswick-based Greek Real Estate Partners. “Their insights will be invaluable as we continue to bring education and information on the industry to the public. We thank them for joining us and look forward to announcing additional members soon.”
Solar Landscape is the leading commercial rooftop solar developer in the United States, having deployed more than 75 million square feet of solar projects with more than 80 owner and developer partners. Based in Asbury Park, the firm has invested more than $1.5 billion into the installations and was named the No. 1 Distributed Generation developer for 2023 by New Project Media and was awarded the U.S. Department of Energy’s Community Solar Grand Prize.
Casdale Energy Cost Management, for its part, is an advisory firm that works with commercial facility owners and managers to uncover energy cost reduction opportunities, according to a news release. The firm helps analyze and implement a variety of energy efficiency options, including conversion to LED lighting, procurement contracts for electricity and natural gas, HVAC system upgrades and/or solar energy.
Circulate NJ, whose coalition spans port workers, warehouse owners, retail developers, trucking companies and more, announced its newest members on Tuesday while citing data from the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development. The transportation, logistics and distribution industry:
- Supports more than 400,000 jobs
- Employs 12 percent of the state’s private work force and provides 12.7 percent of New Jersey private-sector wages
- Provides an average $75,000 annual industry salary
- Contributes $62.5 billion, or 10 percent, to New Jersey’s overall GDP
Circulate NJ notes that its members have also taken the lead in cleaning up contaminated brownfield sites, often spending millions to rehabilitate and make them usable for the public.
