Six tenants have leased a combined 13,000 square feet at a medical office building in West Orange, under a series of renewals announced Monday by Atkins Cos.
The developer and owner, which is based in the township, said the transactions at 1500 Pleasant Valley Way include physician practices covering urology, physical therapy, cardiology and internal medicine. They are among the existing tenants at the 38,500-square-foot building, which sits at the Northfield Avenue intersection and is minutes from Interstate 280 and Route 10.
Known as Atkins Medical Plaza, the building offers easy access to Saint Barnabas Medical Center. The landlord touted the property’s security, high-tech telecommunications capabilities and two stretcher accessible elevators, along with its coffee shop in the lobby and ample patient parking with handicap accessibility.
The building remains 100 percent leased by 15 tenants, Atkins said, while noting that a 3,780-square-foot space will become available in the early fall.
“Shifts in demographics and a growing demand for health care services have been key drivers in the continued demand for high quality medical office space,” said Chick Atkins, principal at Atkins Cos. “For health care providers, it’s a competitive marketplace as supply of well-located Class A space is often limited.
“Atkins Medical Plaza is designed to meet the needs of today’s health care providers. The number and variety of tenants we attracted to the property and have subsequently retained with lease renewals speaks to our expertise in the asset class, as well as our ability to respond to the unique and evolving needs of medical office tenants.”
