OUR CLIENTS
We love what we do. We have been building the amazing spaces of our clients for decades, and it never gets old. Our secret sauce has always been our “client first” mentality. Regardless of a project’s size or scope, our commitment is first to our clients and their vision, enabling them to set new standards in building efficiency, sustainability, employee wellness or productivity — whatever their goals may be. While our roots are in corporate interior fit-outs, we have expanded our services over the years to include ground-up construction as well as specialized expertise in healthcare, industrial, life sciences and data center facilities.
OUR ADVANTAGE
Structure Tone is also a member of the STO Building Group family of companies, which spans the US, Canada, UK and Ireland. We’ve been a fixture in New Jersey for 35 years, and our team is an active member of New Jersey’s business and local communities. But being part of the wider STO Building Group network allows our New Jersey experts to leverage the resources from our employee-owned organization, whether that’s curtainwall system suggestions or sustainability best practices. In other words, we have the local history, know-how and relationships to serve our New Jersey clients as well as the support of our colleagues in helping our clients succeed.
WHAT IS A NOTEWORTHY PROJECT THAT
YOUR FIRM HAS WORKED ON RECENTLY?
Structure Tone has helped transform the former Bell
Labs in Holmdel into Bell Works — the country’s first “metroburb,” complete with offices, retail, dining and more. Structure Tone has partnered with Somerset Development
to reposition the historic building, including base building reconstruction and reconfiguration, major infrastructure upgrades, new shared interior and exterior spaces and fit-out work for tenants ranging from tech firms to insurance and finance companies. This complex, long-term project involved rehabilitating a 1960s-era building that had been vacant for nearly a decade and revamping its entire infrastructure to serve modern tenants and uses.
From a construction point of view, preserving the historic character of the building has meant careful demolition to uphold the structure’s bones while preparing it for modern life. The building’s intentional set-back on the site also required a creative alternative to using cranes for rooftop work. Structure Tone hired a helicopter to lift new smoke evacuation and HVAC units to the roof, shaving weeks off the timeline. The team also helped coordinate the installation of 60,000sf of photovoltaic glass, creating the largest-of-its-kind photovoltaic skylight in the country.
