Reynolds Asset Management has announced two new hires to support its recent growth in the region and nationally.
The firm, which is based in Paramus, said Luly Bestard Melarti joins its team as vice president of architecture and design. She will work closely with the firm’s architects, engineers and other development professionals in the management of its construction and renovation projects, overseeing preconstruction and contract administration while providing guidance to the underwriting and acquisition teams.
Also joining Reynolds is Salvatore Campisi, a senior associate, whose primary responsibilities include underwriting, sourcing new deals in various markets and managing assets for properties within Reynolds’ growing portfolio.
“As the firm continues to expand and our capabilities widen, adding new talent to our mix was an obvious next step,” said Lou Reynolds, CEO of Reynolds Asset Management. “Both Luly and Sal embody our core values and I am proud to welcome them to our team. I look forward to watching them apply their industry skills, strengths and experience to Reynolds’ current and future projects.”
The moves follow Reynolds’ recent expansion beyond the Northeast. The firm last year announced its acquisition of a 125-unit apartment complex outside Cleveland, in its first deal in the Midwest, while adding a combined 500 apartments in and around Shreveport, Louisiana.
Melarti, a licensed architect, comes to the firm with an extensive architectural and design background in all aspects of residential design, development and construction, according to a news release. After receiving a master’s in architecture and an MBA with a concentration in real estate finance, she cofounded a residential design-build company.
She also served as a past development manager focusing on mixed-use development and an architect and planner at Perkins & Will, with a specialization in strategic facility planning, Reynolds said. Currently, the Ridgewood resident is a trustee of the American Institute of Architects Northern New Jersey’s Architect League and a member of AIA New Jersey Equity in Architecture.
Campisi joins Reynolds with three years of contracting and real estate experience, having worked for his family’s electrical contracting and real estate company after graduating from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in accounting, the news release said. He went on to become the co-creator of a canned cocktail brand, which quickly expanded into major retailers throughout the country, before returning to the real estate industry.
