Studio 1200 has elevated Kate Burke to senior associate and studio director and Marissa Gasbarro to associate, touting their roles in the design firm’s growing pipeline.
Based in the Short Hills section of Millburn, the practice said Burke leads its commercial studio and has spearheaded the construction of Freshpet’s new corporate headquarters at Advance Realty Investors’ multiphase Bedminster Village Square project on Route 206. She has also led the design and implementation of several new Millburn Deli locations and the multiphase exterior and interior renovation of the Wayne Public Library, while she oversees educational and law firm projects.
Burke is a licensed architect and holds a master’s in architecture from Yale University.
“Kate has earned the respect of our clients and consistently led our internal teams to deliver projects on time and on budget,” said Sandee Markwith, founding principal of Studio 1200. “Kate has upheld our standards for excellence and the studio is thriving under her leadership.”
The firm noted that Gasbarro, for her part, is a recent graduate of New Jersey Institute of Technology and is on her way to completing her Architect Registration Examination. She has been instrumental in the team’s JESPY Center residential project in West Orange and is closely involved in the addition for the Jersey Battered Women’s Shelter and in the feasibility study for the Featherstone Center for the Arts.
“Marissa’s attention to detail and her ability to keep multiple complicated projects organized at the same time is a game changer in the studio,” said Nancy Dougherty, managing principal at Studio 1200.
