A veterinary practice has leased around 5,250 square feet within a former American Red Cross location in Montclair, brokers with Sheldon Gross Realty announced Tuesday.
The 63 Park St. building will serve as the new base for Montclair Veterinary Associates, according to a news release. The two-story, nearly 6,000-square-foot structure also hosts a pair of residential apartments.
In 2017, Montclair’s chapter of the Red Cross announced it would be selling the facility. Brokers reported that the property, which was constructed in 1910 as a private residence, was acquired three years later by developers and renovated.
Eric Weston, a vice president with Sheldon Gross Realty, brokered the new 10-year, 5,252-square-foot lease arrangement. He represented the tenant, a veterinary hospital with a clientele spanning Montclair, Bloomfield, Cedar Grove, Glen Ridge and Verona.
“For a small, service-based business, this property offers multiple benefits,” Weston said. “The building dates to 1910, so it’s quite charming — and having multiple rooms is ideal for a veterinarian. Parking is available in an on-site lot and along the street, and the Montclair location means you’re in close proximity to a sizable local population of pet owners.”
