PS&S has hired Andrew Malek as
its first-ever chief growth officer
in an effort to lead its expansion nationwide and develop new business for its team of service providers.
The Warren-based architectural, engineering, environmental and
surveying firm said Malek brings more than 35 years of experience as an engineer, with extensive experience
in multiple
disciplines. He will focus on the company’s strategic
growth efforts after 14 years at the professional services firm AKRF Inc., where his role included leading and growing the engineering practice.
“We are excited to have Andrew join PS&S to help spearhead our strategic growth,” said John Sartor,
CEO and president. “Andrew will
be an important addition to our management team. In addition to our recent purchase of DW Smith and
the opening of a new office in Texas, we now have plans to expand our existing presence in New York as well as new geographies in North Carolina and Florida. As we look to grow, Andrew will be a key member of
our management team, helping us to increase PS&S’ exposure and develop new business.”
In announcing the new hire, PS&S said Malek’s experience includes industries such as real estate, construction, transportation, infrastructure, energy, water and the public sector. With AKRF, he climbed the ranks in various senior leadership positions, including several years as CEO during which he managed the AKRF business operation throughout the Northeast, expanding technical service offerings and revenue through organic growth.
Most recently, Malek spent time in various leadership and management positions overseeing the delivery of building construction projects and high-profile projects for private clients.

Malek holds a bachelor’s in civil engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology and professional engineering licenses in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Florida.
JLL BOLSTERS NEW JERSEY OFFICE BROKERAGE TEAM
JLL has hired broker Kelsey Nakamura as a senior vice president, making another addition to its northern New Jersey office leasing team.
Nakamura, who has nearly a decade of industry experience, comes to
JLL from Cushman & Wakefield
and will focus on office brokerage assignments including tenant representation, agency leasing and portfolio clients, working with the team led by Tim Greiner. She is based
in the firm’s Parsippany office

Nakamura is a former director with Cushman & Wakefield. Prior to that, she was the director of leasing and asset management at Saxum Real Estate, a privately held real estate investment and development company.
During her career, Nakamura has negotiated more than 3.5 million square feet of transactions with an aggregate deal value of over $750 million.

VETERAN BROKER JOINS PIERSON COMMERCIAL
Pierson Commercial has expanded its team of retail brokers with the hiring of Robert Mackowski.
The Marlboro-based firm said Mackowski, an industry veteran
and specialist along New Jersey’s Hudson waterfront, joins its roster with experience in both leasing and investment sales, having represented landlords and tenants throughout central and northern New Jersey.
He previously spent 10 years with a competitive national brokerage firm.
