An AFC Urgent Care franchise has added new locations in Clark and Livingston, leasing a combined 8,000 square feet under a set of transactions by The Goldstein Group.
In Clark, the business occupies 3,500 square feet at 77 Central Ave., where it recently opened its doors near tenants such as Target, Marshalls, Citizens Bank, Phenix Salon Suites, Hand & Stone, and Duck Donuts. The Goldstein Group Principal Neil Goldstein represented the tenant in the deal with Tomarc End-Cap Company LLC.
The provider, meantime, has taken 4,500 square feet at 90 South Livingston Ave. in Livingston, in a deal with CP Management Group II LLC. Goldstein represented the tenant, while Vicki Ezra and Jamie Sackern from The Shopping Center Group represented the landlord, the brokerage firm said, noting that the site is next to The Goddard School and is under construction.
“This is the fifth and sixth location for the AFC Licensee that we have represented over the past several years,” said Chuck Lanyard, The Goldstein Group’s president. “The urgent care industry has been expanding into retail shopping center sites to have easier access to the public.”
The team of Albert Saad, owner and franchisee, and Dr. Avery Browne, medical director, touted the debut of the Clark location in a separate announcement. They recently joined local officials including Mayor Sal Bonaccorso and Councilwoman Angel Albanese, along with regional business leaders, to showcase the space and host a meet-and-greet with AFC’s staff and medical team.
“We opened our first two AFC centers in early 2014 with two more following in 2019,” Saad said. “Now, nearly four years later, our team is thrilled to celebrate another exciting round of growth with two additional center openings — in Clark and shortly thereafter in Livingston.
“Clark has been on our radar for many years,” he added. “We look forward to serving the medical needs of local residents and regional businesses as a good neighbor to this Union County community.”
Patients at AFC Clark are seen and treated by licensed and board-certified medical providers, who treat a range of non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, according to a news release. Its services include on-site digital x-rays and laboratory testing for quick and accurate diagnostics, sports and school physicals, Department of Transportation and immigration physicals and minor medical procedures along with occupational medicine.
“AFC Clark has brought a great new urgent care facility to the town, and they are prepared to provide quality care to the local communities,” Bonaccorso said. “We are happy they chose Clark as the location for their newest business and look forward to hearing of their success and continued growth.”
Saad and Browne plan to open the Livingston location this summer.
“The AFC model offers the best of both worlds,” Browne said. “Our patients benefit from seeing a healthcare provider with ‘big company’ resources, protocols and processes. Yet we are independently owned, which means that we work hands-on in our centers every day and are mindful of maintaining the highest standards. We look forward to bringing that same quality and that same commitment to AFC Clark.”
