Walters is continuing its tradition of supporting neighbors in need with its annual Thanksgiving food basket donation for residents of its affordable housing properties throughout New Jersey.
The Barnegat-based developer said the baskets, which include nonperishable food items and grocery gift cards, will be distributed to help those who may otherwise go without this holiday season. Its goal as of late last week was to assist 120 families living in its income-restricted communities, noting that its staff assembled and delivered the baskets to residents on Nov. 20.
“Our team values the support we give to the residents living in our communities,” said Jennifer Pampalone, director of social services for Walters. “Every department within the company has come together to collect monetary donations and food items to make this year’s drive a success.”
This marks the sixth year that staff members have organized a Thanksgiving food drive to support residents, according to the firm. Pampalone, meantime, works in tandem with Walters’ property managers to provide specialized programming for residents living in family and senior income-restricted communities.
