Landmark has unveiled the latest piece of its sweeping Centurion project in Union Township, delivering another 85 luxury apartments and new amenities to a key downtown area.
Located at 968 Bonnel Court, the five-story building marks the fifth residential phase of a development that has helped revitalize the Stuyvesant Avenue corridor starting in early 2020. Leasing is now underway at the collection of one- and two-bedroom units with monthly rents starting from $2,395 and grand opening incentives, as the builder prepares to welcome its first residents this month.
Madsen Leasing is leading the marketing and leasing program.
“We’re excited to build on the success of Centurion Union Center and open this community to a new group of renters as interest in downtown Union reaches an all-time high,” said Manny A. Fernandez, founder of Landmark and designated redeveloper of the Stuyvesant Avenue Redevelopment Project. “Our residents enjoy oversized, luxury-appointed homes and a curated suite of amenities, surrounded by a mix of longstanding local businesses and new dining, shops and retail conveniences.”
Designed by Comito Associates, the new building has three residential floors above a two-story parking garage, giving residents on-site parking while adding 105 ground-floor spaces for public use by downtown Union’s retail and dining patrons, according to a news release. And it follows earlier phases that have yielded 182 homes and 10 retail spaces totaling nearly 15,000 square feet, the developer said, noting that the fully built project will have more than 320 apartments and some 27,000 square feet of commercial space across five buildings.
Amenities at the new phase include a lobby hospitality and coffee hub, a modern fitness center and a resident lounge and clubroom with a kitchen, seating and billiards, the news release said. The building also has a children’s playroom and an expansive rooftop terrace.
Residents, meantime, have access to the full complement of amenities across the entire Centurion Union community, as well as the downtown’s growing mix of restaurants and services. To that end, Landmark cited longtime favorites like Van Gogh’s Ear Café and ethnic eateries serving Thai, Japanese, Mexican, Colombian, Portuguese, Filipino and other cuisines, which have been joined by newer operators such as Ayala Coffee, bbq.Chicken, Angie’s Nails and Pilates x 3.
Additionally, renters are minutes from Interstate 78, Route 22, the Garden State Parkway and NJ Transit’s Union station, which provides service to Newark Penn Station, the firm said. Buses to New York City depart a short walk from Centurion on Morris Avenue.
