A pickleball operator has taken 15,000 square feet at a ShopRite-anchored retail center in Mount Olive, in a newly announced deal by RIPCO Real Estate.
According to the leasing team, PB (973) Pickleball is slated to open this summer at the 73,000-square-foot property in the township’s Flanders section. That’s set to bring a distinctive recreational destination to the complex off Route 206, at 90 Bartley Road, with brokers noting that it will strengthen the tenant mix and increase visit frequency.
RIPCO Executive Vice President Curtis Nassau and Executive Managing Director Matt Grundy represented the landlord, while Helene Elbaum of Newmark Associates represented PB (973) Pickleball.
“We’re thrilled to welcome PB (973) to Flanders,” Grundy said. “Their presence alongside ShopRite creates a strong co-tenancy that will drive traffic for both businesses. Together, they provide a valuable amenity for the community and enhance the overall shopping experience.”
Nassau added: “We’re leasing a lot of retail space to pickleball these days and see the sport’s long-term potential. It’s the fastest-growing sport in America, appealing to all ages. It’s easy to learn, fun to play and watch, covered by ESPN and there’s even discussion of it becoming an Olympic sport.”
