The final piece of a new affordable housing community in Galloway is taking shape, as its developer prepares to welcome residents as soon as this spring.
The Barnegat-based firm, Walters, has opened the housing lottery for the 66-unit Cornerstone at Galloway III project at 110 South Wrangleboro Road. That includes another tranche of one-, two- and three-bedroom homes that will have private front door entrances that open directly to the streets, the company said, adding that residents will have access to on-site amenities such as a multipurpose clubhouse with a modern fitness center, a children’s playground, a basketball court and computer workstations.
The property, which Walters will manage while providing supportive services, will also have on-site parking.
“At Walters, we’re proud to provide vital income-based apartments and services to people who need it the most,” said Joe Del Duca, partner and director of affordable housing for Walters. “Our LEED-certified developments create direct and indirect benefits — helping residents of varied income levels while making a positive economic and environmental impact on the community. We take a hands-on approach, building to a high standard and maintaining our properties over the long term. Overall, our goal is to provide residents with the opportunity to live, work, and play directly within the communities they serve.”
Applications to enter the housing lottery will be accepted through Monday, March 2, Walters said, while the drawing will take place on March 9. Cornerstone at Galloway III will be available to residents whose incomes are at or below 60 percent of the area median income.
