One of Essex County’s newest luxury apartment projects has reached another leasing milestone, passing the 80 percent mark about six months after opening its doors.
The property, The Green at Bloomfield, includes 140 apartments at the corner of Broad and Liberty streets. Developer BNE Real Estate opened the project for leasing in September, delivering a new high-end community within walking distance of an NJ Transit rail station.
“In the six months since we welcomed our first residents, The Green has embarked on a run of success that has exceeded all expectations,” BNE Real Estate Group Partner Jonathan Schwartz said in a prepared statement. “As apartment after apartment has been filled by renters of every age and demographic, the building has become a testament to our belief that Bloomfield is among the fastest-growing and most desirable transit hubs in New Jersey.”

The Green includes amenities such as a fitness center, coffee bar, social lounge, work-from-home areas, roof terrace with resort-style lounge seating, package acceptance service and onsite parking, BNE said in a news release. The property’s ground-floor retail space, which BNE said will soon be occupied by a diverse selection of operators, totals about 10,000 square feet.
“The Green’s easy access to a variety of public transportation options has been a major benefit for our residents, many of whom enjoy a painless commute to Manhattan or other major business and cultural hubs,” Schwartz said. “Combined with the neighborhood’s natural charm and an ever-growing lineup of restaurants, bars, cafes and entertainment options, prospective renters are finding everything they desire right here in Bloomfield.”
