Atkins Cos. has signed a lease to bring a counseling and therapy practice to a 46,000-square-foot medical office building in Burlington County.
The user, Partners for Healing and Changework, is taking an undisclosed amount of space at 103 Old Marlton Pike in Medford, where it’s slated to take occupancy in the first quarter, according to a news release. It joins several other providers at what’s known as Medford Medical Center, including anchors Larchmont Imaging and South Jersey Eye Physicians.
It also joins another mental health provider, Peaceful Practices, which signed a lease with Atkins in June 2022.
“The growing need for mental health services is a national topic for a reason,” said Bob Atkins, principal of Atkins Cos. “There are countless individuals in need of specialized services, but many find it challenging to find local access. We’ve been happy to work with each of these providers to enhance their delivery of much-needed care to the local community and look forward to building upon our relationship with them in the years to come.”
Atkins and a joint venture partner, Capital Solutions Inc., acquired Medford Medical Center in September 2017. The building at the time was comprised of 20 commercial condominium units owned by several individual practitioners, the firm said, causing a lag in ongoing capital improvements and general upkeep that made it difficult to attract new tenants.
The new owner went on to update exterior façade and renovate interior common spaces, among other upgrades, seeking to capitalize on a location adjacent to Route 70.
