Atkins Cos. has inked a new lease and four renewals for a combined 17,900 square feet of transaction volume at a West Orange medical office building, the firm announced.
In the largest deal, a gastroenterology practice affiliated with RWJBarnabas Health took 5,100 square feet at 101 Short Hills Road. A vascular surgery practice, also affiliated with the hospital network, leased 1,500 square feet, while a pediatric practice and an oral surgery group agreed to stay in their spaces of 3,300 and 4,500 square feet, respectively.
RWJBarnabas, which is headquartered in the adjacent building, also leased 3,500 square feet of administrative space at what’s known as Atkins-Kent 101.
“As the health care landscape continues to change dramatically, we remain focused on working with leading health care networks and providers across the nation to creating the modern, adaptable spaces they require to deliver care into our local communities,” said Chick Atkins, managing partner at Atkins. “Built upon this spirit, our long-time relationship with RWJBarnabas Health is emblematic of the success of this approach. Through our close relationship and ongoing transactions with their network, we continue to be a strategic partner in their ongoing growth as they enhance their service offerings throughout northern and central New Jersey.”
In announcing the deals, Atkins said the 120,000-square-foot building has served RWJBarnabas Health as the organization has continued to grow. The network and its affiliated practices currently lease more than 56,000 square feet at Atkins Kent, which has three stretcher-accessible elevators, ample patient parking with an abundance of handicapped spaces, canopied entries for patient drop-off and a modern design featuring a two-story lobby and granite flooring.
The building is also minutes from Route 24 and Interstate 280 and across the street from Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston.
