Avison Young has hired two veteran brokers as the latest additions to its New Jersey industrial services team.
Judy Troiano and John Gianis both join the firm as vice presidents based in its Morristown office. In their new roles, they will work directly with principals Timothy Cadigan and Matthew Turse to enhance Avison Young’s platform in the booming warehouse and logistics market.
“As activity in New Jersey’s industrial sector shows no signs of slowing, expanding our already robust industrial service platform has been a top priority,” said Jeffrey L. Heller, principal and managing director of Avison Young’s New Jersey offices. “Judy and John are proven industry leaders whose expertise will be instrumental in providing best-in-class solutions to our clients’ real estate needs as we continue to win new business and grow our team.”
Troiano, who will focus on advising clients in the industrial sector, brings more than 27 years of local and international office and industrial advisory experience. She joins Avison Young from NAI James E. Hanson, where she specialized in office and industrial transactions in northern New Jersey while also serving as European business director, providing international corporate services for German-owned multinationals with office and industrial requirements.
She attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and holds a Certified Commercial Investment Member industry designation.
“Having spent my career in the commercial real estate industry, I’ve witnessed firsthand Avison Young’s rapidly growing presence and am thrilled to join a company with a people-first culture and tech-forward approach to servicing clients,” Troiano said.
Gianis, for his part, began his real estate career at Douglas Elliman Commercial before joining Helmsley Spear in New York City, according to a news release. Since 2019, he has completed more than $50 million in transactions.
Gianis graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s in history, where he was also a member of the baseball team. In 2011, he was selected by the Los Angeles Angels in Major League Baseball’s player draft.
“New Jersey’s industrial market is one of the strongest in the country and Avison Young is an active player in this space,” Gianis said. “I’m excited to join and contribute to this growing team and continue my career at a company that is dedicated to creating value for its clients, colleagues and community.”
