Barnes & Noble has found a new home in Livingston after taking nearly 25,000 square feet at a Route 10 retail center, brokers with RIPCO Real Estate announced Monday.
According to the leasing team, the bookseller is moving to 530 West Mount Pleasant Ave. under a long-term deal with Kite Realty. That will allow it to depart its longtime space at the Livingston Mall, with plans to open in the new location by mid- to late 2027.
RIPCO Vice Chairman Brian Schuster and executive vice presidents Mike Horne and Steven Winters represented the landlord in the 24,740-square-foot deal, which backfills a former Buybuy Baby space while VanRock CRE Principal Marc Palestina represented Barnes & Noble.
“Barnes & Noble is a highly sought-after national retailer, and their commitment to Livingston Shopping Center underscores the strength of this location and the long-term vision for the property,” Winters said. “Route 10 continues to be one of northern New Jersey’s premier retail corridors, and we are excited to welcome a brand that serves as both a retail anchor and a community destination for Livingston and the surrounding area.”
RIPCO noted that Livingston Shopping Center is easily accessible and convenient for shoppers by virtue of its location along the busy Route 10 corridor, benefiting from strong daily traffic counts, easy access to major highways and a dense, affluent surrounding population. Barnes & Noble’s co-tenants at the 138,425-square-foot property will include Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx, Ulta Beauty, DSW and World Market.
