Becht Engineering BT Inc. has named a new mechanical, electrical and plumbing division manager at its Basking Ridge headquarters.

The firm announced that Timothy M. Conlon, who brings more than 35 years of engineering and project management experience, will lead a team of MEP engineers and designers, specializing in designs for high-end residential, historic, mixed-use and government projects. In addition, he will strengthen the delivery of Becht’s HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety and structural engineering services to the commercial and industrial industries.
“Tim is a skilled engineer who is well-accomplished in the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection disciplines,” said Robert G. Bryant Jr., the firm’s president. “His expertise will be a great asset to Becht, enriching our status as experts in building systems engineering services.”
Before joining Becht, Conlon was an associate principal at PS&S in Warren, where he worked for the last 23 years. Prior to that, he was project engineer and project manager at Brownworth Engineering Associates and a project engineer and project manager at Tighe, Doty, Carrino.
His experience includes feasibility studies, existing conditions assessments, MEP/FP design and sustainable design, according to a news release. He has expertise in a range of market sectors and facilities types, including education, offices, multifamily, mixed-use, pharmaceutical, labs, health care and industrial facilities.
Conlon earned a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from Rutgers University and a certificate focused in electrical design from New York University. He is a licensed professional engineer in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Maryland and a LEED Accredited Professional.
