Lloyd Rosenberg

The work of DMR Architects and its impact on the performing arts community will take center stage later this month as bergenPAC honors CEO and President Lloyd Rosenberg.
The venue, which is located in Englewood, is hosting its annual fundraising gala on Oct. 15. The program will include highlighting Rosenberg’s contributions through projects such as the recent redesign of bergenPAC’s lobby, concessions and bar area, along with his role in creating a new VIP section and entrance that serve as vibrant gathering spaces.
“bergenPAC’s trust in DMR’s vision to evolve their spaces into a cohesive experience that starts long before the curtains go up was a great honor in and of itself,” said Rosenberg, whose firm is based in Hasbrouck Heights. “I am grateful and humbled by its recognition of our work here and throughout the region in support of the arts and thank them for all they do to advance artistic expression and make it available for everyone to enjoy.”
According to a news release, DMR Architects re-energized bergenPAC using raw industrial design elements such as bare beams, exposed brick, pendant light fixtures and visible ductwork, which were juxtaposed with the refined traditional décor expected in a theater setting. The firm also redesigned the box office to refresh its aesthetic and meet current ADA compliance and the mezzanine level to increase the number of bathrooms.
Beyond bergenPAC, DMR’s past projects include the award-winning repurposing of Hackensack’s 140-year-old Masonic Temple into a 224-seat performing arts center. The redevelopment of the property’s interior was complemented by the conversion of the adjacent parking lot into Atlantic Street Park, the news release said, noting that the site has become an urban green space where those who live and work in Hackensack enjoy nature as well as municipal events like movie nights and free concerts.
DMR has also redesigned historic buildings such as the Annin Flag Factory in Verona into modern loft-style apartments, working on behalf of Russo Development.
