Binswanger is launching a new office in northern New Jersey, where it has recruited several veteran brokers as part of a major expansion by the Philadelphia-based real estate services firm.
The company said the location, which will be in Bergen County, will have a strong focus on industrial and highly specialized properties and occupiers. More than a dozen brokers will support those efforts, including recent hires from CBRE, Cushman & Wakefield and Marcus & Millichap.
Among them are three senior-level brokers — Charles Laginestra and Josh Krantz as senior vice presidents and Nick Savage as a vice president. Joining them are Chris Pennington, Michael Torsiello, Nick Biedron, John Harris and Matt Fennelly, among others.
“New Jersey represents a critical hub for industrial distribution, flex manufacturing, lab and life sciences, critical facilities and related office requirements,” Binswanger CEO Jeff Hipschman said. “By establishing a presence in northern New Jersey, Binswanger expands our uniquely specialized approach in serving local, regional and global clients seeking advanced solutions in one of the country’s largest and most complex industrial and special properties markets.”
The move comes a year and a half after Hipschman joined the company as CEO, becoming the first non-family member in the leadership role since its founding in 1931. His plans at the time included ushering in a new era of innovation, collaboration and growth by leveraging its deep expertise across multiple disciplines, including engineering, life sciences, aerospace, food and logistics, the firm said, while leading its U.S. and global growth and expansion.
In the Garden State, Laginestra joins its team with more than three decades of commercial real estate experience and specializes in the acquisition, disposition and leasing of office space. The former CBRE broker represents both tenants and landlords throughout northern and central New Jersey, with past clients including Canon U.S.A., WABC TV, Eaton Corp. and others.
Savage, meantime, has more than 20 years of experience advising corporate occupiers on complex office real estate strategies, with a focus on tenant representation, financial analysis and strategic portfolio positioning across the New Jersey and greater New York metropolitan markets, Binswanger said. The longtime New Jersey office broker is a former senior vice president in CBRE’s brokerage services division, having completed assignments totaling hundreds of thousands of square feet on behalf of notable organizations including NJ Transit, Sanofi-Aventis, Merrill Lynch and PwC, among others.
Krantz, a 40-year industry veteran, focuses on industrial owner and occupier representation, investment sales and strategic leasing assignments, leveraging Binswanger’s national platform and research-driven advisory approach to deliver tailored solutions for clients, the firm said. He also has significant experience in retail and mixed-use properties across the country and most recently founded and operated National Property Associates Inc., a national investment brokerage firm, having negotiated deals or advised clients in 46 states.
He also served as senior vice president at Lee & Associates — New Jersey from 2018 to 2025 and as director of leasing and redevelopment at MCB Real Estate LLC in Baltimore.
