The Associated Builders and Contractors’ New Jersey chapter has tapped a veteran business owner and public official in South Jersey as its newest leader.

The advocacy group, which is based in Mount Laurel, announced that Sam Fiocchi has joined its team as president. The organization touted his experience running a family business for more than 35 years, along with several elected and government positions, including a term in the state Assembly from 2014 to 2016.
Born and raised in Vineland, Fiocchi was also a member of the Cumberland County Board of Chosen Freeholders from 2011 to 2013, according to a news release. He was a member of the Vineland zoning board from 2009 to 2011 and is now a member of the city’s planning board.
During his term in the Assembly, he served on the Human Services, Regulatory Oversight and Telecommunications and Utilities committees, the news release said. The Widener University alumnus also served on the transition team of former Gov. Chris Christie in 2010.
