CBRE has pulled from within its own ranks to name a new head of research in New Jersey.
In a news release, the real estate services firm said industry veteran Steve Gardner will serve as team lead of its New Jersey research department, overseeing eight full-time professional researchers. He brings 24 years of experience in both research and brokerage, with a role that calls for ensuring CBRE’s New Jersey brokers can get the most out of the firm’s vast research platform for clients.
Gardner will also focus on enhancing the firm’s thought leadership status in the New Jersey marketplace, the news release said. Over the last four years, he has been a member of CBRE’s Global Workplace Solutions team, working as a senior manager on the firm’s Verizon account in Basking Ridge.
Previously, he worked in the research division of Trammell Crow Co., which has since been acquired by CBRE. Gardner’s other work in the New Jersey real estate market includes tenures with DTZ, JLL and developer J.G. Petrucci Co.
“Steve brings a wealth of insight and experience to his leadership role in our New Jersey research division,” said Jeff Hipschman, senior managing director of CBRE in New Jersey. “With his guidance, we will continue to expand CBRE’s market insights by delivering first-class research and market analytics that further support our regional brokerage teams and — in turn — our clients’ real estate success.”
Gardner will work closely with CBRE Tristate Research Manager Clint Ridgewell and Director of Research and Analysis Nicole LaRusso, the news release said. He said he plans to tap CBRE’s research resources to continue to build the company’s brand in the regional market, supporting business development initiatives and identifying ways to expand the company’s research capabilities.
“CBRE’s industry-leading research capabilities have always provided a great competitive advantage for our brokers, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to remain with a firm that I regard as the best of the best,” Gardner said. “I am excited to take on the challenge of building even more client-facing value into the CBRE research division, which will continue to be an invaluable source of market trend information and — more importantly — actionable insights.”
